Hershey is the kind of mule everyone is looking for. Even at his young age of 6, his impeccable behavior is evidence of his quiet disposition and great mind. When we need a babysitter on the trail, we go straight to Hershey. He is quiet and careful, goes only as fast as you ask him and does not care if he is left behind. He rides out by himself without any hesitation or fuss. Hershey will cross any obstacle carefully and safely and if he does hesitate, you should probably check again, it might not be safe. Perfect size for most riders at 14.2 hands and he has no trouble packing full size men. We have used him for riding and packing and he has been ridden by inexperienced riders in the roughest country. Hershey will pony another mule or a horse and has lead a short pack string. He crosses standing or rushing water and any type of bridge safely and carefully. He has been hauled all the way across the country and loads and hauls without issues. We have hunted on him in the precipitous canyons of the Deschutes River in Oregon, trail rode him in the Cascade mountains, scouted elk on him in the Salmon River country and hauled him to Arizona to ride the desert canyons of Yavapai County. We have even shown him a little bit at the Western Idaho Fair and did some extreme trail courses which he handled without a fuss. Before we got him he had been trail ridden and used to move cattle and had been to the chuckwagon races in Clinton, Arkansas. Hershey is up to date on vaccinations and dental work and has had regular hoof care and deworming. He is registered with the ADMS. About anyone could get along with Hershey Kiss. We’d be happy to show you this nice mule at our ranch in Oregon or come take him for a ride at mule days. Truly is a 12 year old 15 hand quarterhorse type molly. This is the mule everyone is looking for – flashy, quiet, just the right size and you will run the tires off your truck trying to find a gentler mule. She is friendly and always meets you at the gate. She is safe and quiet to handle on the ground, picks up her feet and clips without issues, will stand tied for hours, stands patiently for saddling and bridling, loves her ears scratched and loads right up and hauls like she’s not even in the trailer. If you can get on her, you can ride her. She is a great combination of stepping out nicely on the trail but only going as fast as you ask her to go. We have yet to find anything that bothers this mule. Truly knows all the basics in the arena but trail work is her specialty. She is a reliable mount and will carefully cross bridges, water, down trees and most anything you might encounter on the trail. We have used Truly to gather, move and sort cows and she is handy in the branding pen. She is a pleasure to ride on the trail and does not spook. If you are looking for a family mule that everyone in the family can handle, ride and enjoy, Truly is your mule. She is up to date on vaccinations and deworming and had her dental work done in the spring of 2022. Contact Pam or Matt for more information, to schedule a visit to our ranch or to arrange to try out this nice molly on a trail ride prior to mule days.
