My first year at Bryce Canyon Mule Days and man did I enjoy the trail rides! I also came to watch the sale…. “watch” and came home with Rafter F Truly! I have several very special mules, I show at Bishop Mule Days and local mule shows, really enjoy that side of my mules. They are all great trail riding mules also, but I don’t like new riders on them, trail riding is what I do at my ranch on the lower Salmon River in Idaho. Steep country, lots of wildlife. Decided at Chrome in the Canyon I needed one more mule to feel I could turn over to anyone. Right in front of me was Truly. My good friends, the Fournier’s, had never talked about her before with me, but knew they had put a bunch of training and obstacles in front of her all year long. At Chrome both Matt and Pam said if that is what you want, calm, secure, never a spooky, trustful, strong and wonderful of all, sweet and she’s gorgeous! You need to buy Truly. I decided that morning of the sale she was the one, the fun part is I did not tell the Fournier’s. So they were surprised as others. I have always trusted their word, they have always guided me in the right direction and listened …

The best place to buy a mule from honest people! This is my husbands and my first mule and we couldn’t be happier. Very impressed with the consigners and their honesty about what their mule is. We hit the jackpot with Ruby Jane from Mark and Callie Rodgers of Red Dirt Bison Co. She is exactly what they said she was. The entire event was well organized and the people were all friendly. Can’t wait to come back and participate in the week activities of Bryce Canyon Mule Days!

Bryce Canyon Mule Days is a BLAST!! This is the 3rd year we have attended and its such a fun and well run event. The Mecham family are truly wonderful people!! Chrome in the Canyon Mule Sale: I would highly recommend purchasing a mule from this sale. The mules are all put through various tests and if they don’t perform….They are taken out of the sale. I purchased Brenda a 5 yr old Black molly mule from Enos Borntrager (Rocky Ridge Mule Farm). I Love, Love, Love her. Immediately after the sale we continued on a 3 week trip riding throughout Utah. We spent the whole trip boondocking. Brenda handled everything (highlining, hours in the trailer, steep cliffy trails, rivers) absolutely bomb proof!! I’ve had her home in Washington now for a couple weeks and put her through the test. You couldn’t find a mule with a better mind and Enos put a excellent handle on her! I can’t say enough. She is exactly what he told me. By the way Brenda is the 4th mule we have purchased from Enos and we Love them all! I buy from him for a reason. Enos Borntrager is honest!! I’ll be riding her on all our pack trips this year:)

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I never got a chance to tell you how much I appreciate all you did to make the sale such a success. You also made it a real positive experience for my son Logan. He got to meet some really great people. They treated him really well and he learned a lot from talking to them. He was really excited about the lady that bought Sundance. She has texted and emailed several times to thank him for the opportunity to own such a great mule. She had contacted us several times before the sale and we had been sending her videos and pictures for quite a while. She told him she thought he was the absolute best buy of the sale so you can imagine how that made him feel. She drove all the way from Oregon pulling a trailer just to buy him and ended up taking 2 or 3 others home with her. She was really impressed with the whole experience. I think he is hooked. I purchased Birdie (Jezzabelle) from Waugh Livestock, Jonathan and Sammi Waugh. I’ve been riding for 50 years, and Birdie is the first mule I have owned, no going back now! She is exactly what was represented, fun to be around, and great to ride. So grateful to have her!
